সুন্দরবনের রহস্যময় অরণ্যের গভীরে, হিরণ পয়েন্ট ও কালাবগি ফরেষ্ট অফিসের মাঝামাঝি অঞ্চলে অবস্থিত এক নিস্তব্ধ স্থান—শেখেরটেক মন্দির। নদী, খাল আর ম্যানগ্রোভ গাছে ঘেরা এই স্থানটি শুধু একটি দর্শনীয় স্পট নয়, এটি সুন্দরবনের মানুষের শত বছরের বিশ্বাস ও বেঁচে থাকার ইতিহাসের নীরব সাক্ষী।

এই বিশ্বাস থেকেই সুন্দরবনের মানুষ বাঘকে “দক্ষিণ রায়” বা বনবিবির সৈনিক বলে মনে করে। শেখেরটেকে এসে তারা প্রার্থনা করে—যাতে বনে কাজ করতে গিয়ে বাঘের সামনে পড়লেও জীবন রক্ষা পায়।
শেখেরটেকের সবচেয়ে বিস্ময়কর দিক হলো—
এখানে কোনো ধর্মীয় বিভেদ নেই।
একই জায়গায় জ্বলে ধূপ, দেওয়া হয় মানত, বলা হয় দোয়া।

Deep within the mysterious forests of the Sundarbans, between Hiron Point and the Kalabogi Forest Office, lies a quiet and sacred place—Shekhertek Temple. Surrounded by rivers, canals, and mangrove trees, this site is not merely a tourist attraction; it is a silent witness to centuries of belief and the struggle for survival of the people of the Sundarbans.
Shekhertek is primarily known as a small Shiva temple of the Hindu faith. According to researchers, the temple is more than 400 years old and is considered an important archaeological and cultural heritage site. Once a year, many Hindu pilgrims visit this place to seek spiritual merit and offer their श्रद्धা (homage). Notably, people from both Hindu and Muslim communities come here to pay respect.
According to local folklore, many years ago a deeply spiritual ascetic lived in this region, known simply as “Sheikh.” He prayed for the protection of forest-dependent communities, for safety from danger, and for peaceful coexistence with nature. In his memory, Shekhertek was established, which later became deeply connected with the legends of Bonbibi.
Even today, fishermen, honey collectors (mouals), and woodcutters (bawalis) who come to work in the Sundarbans firmly believe that—
entering the forest without bowing one’s head at Shekhertek leaves the journey incomplete.
Because the Sundarbans is not just a forest—it is the home of the Royal Bengal Tiger.
Here, the tiger is not merely an animal; it is a symbol of fear, reverence, and power.
Many stories circulate among forest workers—
sometimes a silent gaze of a tiger from behind dense bushes,

📢 জেলেদের জীবনযাপন ও সংগ্রাম
👉 দুবলার চড়ের জেলেদের জীবন অত্যন্ত কষ্টকর ও ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ। তারা সাধারণত বাঁশ, সুন্দরবনের গাছ, সুন্দরবনের গোলপাতা, সোন, পলিথিন ও ত্রিপল দিয়ে তৈরি অস্থায়ী ঘরে বসবাস করেন। বিশুদ্ধ পানির সংকট এখানে নিত্যদিনের সমস্যা, বালি মাটি খুড়ে কুয়া তৈরি করে সেখান থেকে খাবার পানি সংগ্রহ করে। খাবার রান্না হয় নোনা পরিবেশে, সীমিত উপকরণে।
📢 জেলেদের প্রধান কষ্টগুলো হলো—
👉 প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগ: হঠাৎ ঝড়, জলোচ্ছ্বাস

👉 অনেক জেলে দিনের পর দিন গভীর সমুদ্রে জাল ফেলে থাকেন। কখনো জাল ছিঁড়ে যায়, কখনো মাছ মেলে না—তবুও পরিবারের মুখে খাবার তুলে দেওয়ার তাগিদে তারা আবার নোনা জলে নামেন।

👉 আলোর কোল হলো দুবলার চড়ের সবচেয়ে পরিচিত শুঁটকি পল্লি। এখানে সারি সারি বাঁশের মাচায় মাছ রোদে শুকানো হয়। সূর্যের আলো ও সমুদ্রের বাতাসে শুকানো এই শুঁটকি দেশের বিভিন্ন অঞ্চলে বিশেষ চাহিদা সম্পন্ন।
এই শুঁটকি পল্লি গড়ে ওঠে মূলত জেলেদের প্রয়োজনে। বছরের পর বছর ধরে এখানে একটি মৌসুমি অর্থনীতি গড়ে উঠেছে—জেলে, শ্রমিক, মহাজন, আড়তদার ও নৌকার মাঝিদের সমন্বয়ে।
 
📢 দুবলার চড়ের রাস মেলা ও রাস মন্দিরঃ
👉 দুবলার চড়ের ইতিহাসে সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সাংস্কৃতিক অধ্যায় হলো রাস মেলা। প্রতি বছর শীতকালে (সাধারণত কার্তিক-পূর্ণিমা বা অগ্রহায়ণে) এখানে হিন্দু ধর্মাবলম্বীদের রাস পূজা ও রাস মেলা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।
👉 লোককথা অনুযায়ী, বহু বছর আগে এখানে একটি রাস মন্দির প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়, যা শ্রীকৃষ্ণের রাসলীলার স্মৃতিবাহী। এই মেলা উপলক্ষে বাংলাদেশ ও ভারতের বিভিন্ন অঞ্চল থেকে সাধু, বৈষ্ণব ও তীর্থযাত্রীরা আসতেন। বর্তমানে মেলার জৌলুস কিছুটা কমলেও এর ঐতিহাসিক গুরুত্ব অটুট আছে।
 
📢 অফিস কেল্লা, মরণ চড় ও অন্যান্য স্থানঃ
👉 অফিস কেল্লা এটি বন বিভাগের একটি প্রশাসনিক স্থাপনার নাম, যেখান থেকে বন ও মৎস্য সংক্রান্ত কার্যক্রম তদারকি করা হয়।
 
📢 মরণ চড়:
👉 (মরন চড়) নাম থেকেই বোঝা যায়, এটি একটি বিপজ্জনক এলাকা। অতীতে এখানে বহু নৌডুবি, জলোচ্ছ্বাস ও বাঘের আক্রমণের ঘটনা ঘটেছে বলে স্থানীয়দের বিশ্বাস। (মরন চড় নিয়ে পরবর্তীতে বিষদ আকারে সঠিক গল্প লেখা হবে)।

সুন্দরবন—পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে বড় ম্যানগ্রোভ বন, বাংলাদেশের দক্ষিণ-পশ্চিম উপকূলে অবস্থিত এক অনন্য প্রাকৃতিক বিস্ময়। ইউনেস্কো ঘোষিত এই ওয়ার্ল্ড হেরিটেজ সাইট শুধু বন নয়, এটি নদী, খাল, দ্বীপ, বন্যপ্রাণী আর মানুষের জীবনের এক অসাধারণ মিলনস্থল।

সুন্দরবন ইকো-ট্যুরিজম মানে শুধু ভ্রমণ নয়—
এটি প্রকৃতিকে সম্মান করে, তার নিয়ম মেনে, পরিবেশের ক্ষতি না করে প্রকৃতিকে উপভোগ করা।

এই বনে রয়েছে রয়েল বেঙ্গল টাইগার, চিত্রা হরিণ, কুমির, বানর, অসংখ্য পাখি ও জলজ প্রাণী। নদীর জোয়ার-ভাটার ছন্দে চলে এখানকার জীবন। ম্যানগ্রোভ গাছ উপকূলকে রক্ষা করে ঘূর্ণিঝড় ও জলোচ্ছ্বাস থেকে—যা প্রকৃতির এক অনন্য সুরক্ষা ব্যবস্থা।
